Today is the Last Day and We’re Falling Short

Dear EWOC,

In his recent piece, EWOC volunteer Eric Dirnbach asks: When will we see a time when millions of workers are fed up with the status quo, and most importantly, want to do something about it?

It’s clear — worker uprisings are the moment. And EWOC is hungry to not only to meet the moment, but directly build the future we know is possible from it. This will require tools, resources, determined people power — and money.

That’s why we’re once again asking you to become a sustaining donor. This time is different because today is the last day of our Sustaining Donor Drive and we still need to raise $1,500 in monthly donations to meet our goal. Even committing $3 a month will have a dramatic affect on our ability to build out our base. Nothing gets done alone. We believe this and know you do too!

Something is happening in the labor movement. 2,000 hospital workers are on strike in Buffalo and over 52,000 more registered nurses and healthcare professionals could go on strike in the coming weeks; 1,700 Kellogs workers in four states are on strike; 10,000 John Deere workers could go on strike at any moment; and of course, by nearly a unanimous margin, IATSE workers voted to authorize a strike last week.

At EWOC our work is not only measured through successful campaigns but through the avenues of opportunity we can create. Each blog reader, training program attendee, every worker that approaches us for tools and resources, matters. They’re building the labor movement. We’re here to support and connect them and now, more than ever, this work is needed.

Meet the moment with us. Become a sustaining donor and help us reach more workers. A better world is possible if we organize for it.

Solidarity,

Wen, EWOC Volunteer, Media
